AFC Rushden & Diamonds
Northern Premier League - Midlands Division
AFC Rushden & Diamonds was established in 2011 by supporters following the dissolution of the original Rushden & Diamonds FC due to financial difficulties. The new club began its journey in the United Counties League Division One, the same league where Irthlingborough Diamonds, a predecessor club, had competed before the 1992 merger that formed the original Rushden & Diamonds FC.
In their inaugural season, AFC Rushden & Diamonds secured promotion to the Premier Division, setting the stage for a remarkable rise through the English football pyramid. The club's rapid ascent was marked by league titles and cup victories, underscoring the strength of its community ownership and supporter engagement.
The club's early success was highlighted by winning the United Counties League Premier Division in the 2014–15 season, which propelled them to higher levels of competition. Subsequent seasons saw AFC Rushden & Diamonds competing in various leagues, including the Southern League and the Northern Premier League, achieving notable finishes and cup victories along the way.
Despite challenges, including financial constraints and the need to relocate grounds to ensure sustainability, the club has remained a testament to the resilience and passion of its supporters.
